AN UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT OF HABANERAS

The “habaneras” are popular Cuban songs that were composed by Spanish seafarers who in the 19th century sailed to Cuba in seek of economic fortunes and trade. The fact that there are still numerous music ensembles that perform the same songs full of history and melancholy, 100 years later, shows the importance these songs and history have for this little town at the Costa Brava. The beach of Port Bo is the perfect scenario for the ensembles like Grup Bergantí, Cavall Bernat or Los Pescadores de L’Escala to perform in front of a huge crowd, the songs of a time long gone.

And then the big finale! Everyone present chants the song “La bella Lola” to end a musical feast that is unique in the world. And of all this is set in Calella de Palafrugell, a truly enchanting village, with its limewhite houses on the seashore, its exquisite gastronomy and gentle folk. The habaneras are the perfect excuse to visit Calella de Palafrugell and uncover all of its secrets. Ready to fall in love with this charming village?
